2023 - The Year of Divine Favor

2023 - The Year of Divine Favor

Recently, I went to a QuickTrip gas station.

I had my three youngest children with me.

After I finished pumping gas, my children all wanted to go inside and get an Icee.

I did not want to go inside and get them an Icee but somehow, and this is very rare, they convinced me.

Although it was cold, we all hopped out of the car, went inside and walked straight to the Icee area.

As you probably know, my children all wanted something different and they wanted to get the Icees themselves. Consequently, they are spilling Icee everywhere and I’m cleaning up behind them.

We finally filled up our Icee cups and headed to the checkout counter.

While we were standing in line at the counter, a man in front of us turned around, looked at us and then turned back around.

When he gets to the cashier, he says, “I got all of this right here. I'm going to pay for all of this right here” as he points to me and my children.

I said, “Wait, wait, wait, wait a minute. What's going on here?”

He said, “I'm paying for all of this.”

So my children and I immediately say, “Thank you” and he says, “Everybody’s welcome.”

When we arrived at the car, I told the children how that kind act was the favor of God and we spoke blessings over that individual.

As I started the car and drove off, I heard the Lord speak to me at that moment. I didn’t hear an audible voice but I heard Him speak on the inside of my heart.

He said, “That’s not the full extent of My favor. You have diminished the favor of God to simple small purchases and good parking spaces.”

Then I heard Him say something more impactful.

He said, “My favor is not an accessory; My favor is a necessity.”

Wow!

Unintentionally, we’ve treated God’s favor as an unnecessary benefit and not as a necessity or daily need.

Favor can be defined as excessive kindness or unfair partiality. Favor is an act of kindness, aid and support. Favor also gives you preferential treatment.

In Luke 2:52, we find out that Jesus increased in favor.

Why was it a necessity that Jesus increased in favor?

Was it to get free stuff?
Or was it to fulfill His purpose and mission in life?

After reading Ephesians 2:7 TPT, I heard the Lord say this to me about 2023.

Here is the WORD that I want you to declare over your life everyday:

“Throughout 2023, I will be the visible display of the infinite riches of His favor and kindness.”

I will be teaching more on this in the month of January. Grace and favor are the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please join us in person, online, and through our podcasts to be strengthened and encouraged to have faith to be a visible display of God's favor and kindness.
