The Best Decision

Matthew 6:34 MSG
Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

If you’re like me, you may have a tendency to worry about tomorrow. Worrying about tomorrow is very exhausting. It places all of your energy and attention into the future. This kind of worry reaches ahead, grabs hold of potential trouble, and brings it into your life right now. Placing your attention and your energy into tomorrow produces fear of the unknown. And because tomorrow is unknown, most people greatly fear what they do not know.

One particular time I needed to make a very important decision and I was struggling. My  choice would impact my future and I didn’t exactly know how. Negative thoughts were striking my mind with how this decision would impact my tomorrow.  I was overwhelmed with tomorrow. I was so worried about the future that fear started to paralyze me. I was so scared to make the wrong decision because I was scared of the unknown.  One day, I was in prayer about this matter and I heard the Lord say this to me, “DaVon, what's the best decision for today?”

That was a startling question to me.

What if I am supposed to only live one day at a time?

The process of answering this question will take the fear and the worry out of your decision-making. You can take a step back. Focus on today. Tomorrow is unknown but at this point in your life, what should you do? What's the best decision for today?

What decisions can I help you make today?
